Client: Procom Invest GmbH & Co. KG
Project period: since 2019
The project in brief
Developing ground-floor space—making the upper floors appealing: That is the task Procom Invest GmbH & Co. KG has entrusted to us as part of the Nikolai-Insel neighborhood development project.
For the Hamburg-based project developer, we are designing alternative usage concepts—for a neighborhood development that encompasses all aspects of life and work, business, and culture.
The future of Nikolai Island: lively and popular
150 apartments as well as office space, restaurants and retail on 40,000 m²: the mixed-use Nikolai-Insel quarter is being built on the original site of the Port of Hamburg – and in a prime city location. Here, brick facades meet new buildings – and the historic Nikolaifleet meets living, working and shopping.
Through analyses and discussions with stakeholders, we approach the needs at the location – and develop these in the form of idea sprints. In doing so, we directly involve the relevant project participants in terms of content or region.
Our common goal: alternative usage concepts for the first floor areas of the properties with great appeal and attractiveness. Also to make the upper floors interesting for tenants.
