Profile
Julia Staron is known for her commitment at all levels of the city. “Stadt”: since the 1980s, she has been committed to sustainable neighborhood and tourism development as well as neighborhood-friendly nightlife in her Hamburg neighborhood of St. Pauli. She has been the neighborhood manager for the Reeperbahn+ BID since 2015: “Neighborhood management in St. Pauli has made me rich – in knowledge, passion and humility. This experience has been with me for over 10 years and inspires me every day.”
Neighborhood development is what drives Julia Staron: “Cohesion, togetherness and courage are the cornerstones of a vibrant society. Differences are opportunities, and culture is the glue that binds us together. For me, it’s about the identity of places – not their image,” emphasizes the expert.
For the trained mediator, shaping the city also means managing cooperation and conflicts – and mediating between people. A whole bouquet of challenges, which the Hamburg native tackles with great passion and a large network throughout the DACH region.
